Okay, so I was just listening to the Dead Weather, and I realized something. They're technically "electronic blues", but to me, it sounded like rap. Not only that, but it was the very best "rap" that I've ever listened to 😁

Now, keep in mind that I am currently into VERY little rap. I've listened to singles from all the classics (MBDTF, Ready to Die, etc.), but none of them get my attention.

Which made me wonder: Is there any great rap that I don't know about that's really blues-based? I love all sorts of blues rock, with everything from The White Stripes to Zeppelin to PJ Harvey. So if there's such thing as blues-rap, I might fall in love with it.

Any suggestions, guys?

Thanks in advance!

Check out Blakroc - a project by the Black Keys with rappers like Mos Def, RZA, Raekwon, Q-Tip.
Very bluesy!

That's exactly what I was going to recommend. It's literally 'Hip-Hop Blues'.

The group isn't the best, but if you wanted to hear blues hip-hop, that it.

Wasn't there a track by Dylan called Subterranean Homesick Blues?

Otherwise, the only albums I can think of right now are Quannum Spectrum and Solesides' Greatest Bumps
