Hi all! There seems to be a trend right now of adding unofficial albums to BEA. Please remember that bootleg albums are not allowed on the site, and will be deleted if you add them. Please also remember that researching bootleg albums takes up valuable data moderation time for those who are working hard on keeping everything current.

I do have to wonder, though: What horrible things will happen if we start allowing bootlegs to the site?
One thing that could happen is that I could make a compilation of what I think are any random band's best songs, "release" it, add it to BEA and claim it's an official album. I could make a mixed cd, release it on my own "label", and claim it's an album. I could make hundreds of them...thousands. I might already have them made.
I, myself, agree with AM's stand that unofficial releases do not warrant being included on charts intended for official releases. And AM has been pretty clear that BEA (unlike other sites) will include official album releases only. There are plenty of other sites where bootlegs are allowed. _________________ I'm leaning on the threshold
