Is this by number of albums heard? Number of times through full discographies? I'm not really understanding.

Number of albums heard.

Perhaps the clarity language should have been what was, the mistake is mine

From last.fm, since March 2014:

Top artists:

Bob Dylan - 466 plays
Tom Waits - 441
The Cure - 420
Bjork - 357
Neil Young - 348

That's out of a total of over 50,000 plays, though, so the above artists each account for <1% of my total listens. This is tracks, not albums, but you can divide the above numbers by ~10 to estimate the number of album listens.

I have 35 GBV albums and EPs rated on here and that's not everything I've heard by them. Next is Stereolab at 17, then Dylan and Of Montreal at 13, and there are several 12s. As for frequency, GBV are definitely #1 of that too, I've listened to Bee Thousand 100 something times and Alien Lanes 60 something times, and that's just those two. After that I know I've listened to Internal Wrangler a lot, and Lazer Guided Melodies should be up there too. Not gonna count it up though, and I don't use Last.fm

Everyone has all of the albums they've ever listened to rated and tagged as listened on BEA after all.
