Don't know if this act has ever been brought up? They were together briefly in the mid 60s. Their music has a lush sound. After the group split up, member Cass Elliot went solo and died tragically in London while on tour in the early 70s. Such a waste and a lovely lady.

I like Eddie Hazel. Chungking Express is pretty fun, too.

Yeah, they're a pleasant group to listen to. For me, the one LP that stands on its own well is

If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears by The Mamas And The Papas. I have that one and a compilation. However, they also have recorded a few easy-listening type covers of songs done originally and better by black artists, a common exercise in American pop music that almost always irritates me.

I know they broke up after a brief run, but didn't know one of their members died shortly thereafter. But yes it would be cool if they were mentioned more often. I've listened to two or three of their albums, and If You Can Believe Your Eyes and Ears is by far their best. In addition to two of their iconic songs, it has their cover of I Call Your Name, which blows John Lennon's out the water.
