My absolute least favorite ELO album, although everything from this album to the end (Time, Secret Messages, Balance Of Power) is inferior and unnecessary. "Don't Bring Me Down" and "The Diary Of Horace Wimp" are excruciatingly stupid, and the sudden shift from being a guitar driven rock band with strings to a keyboard/producer disco pop project with an occasional orchestra is unsatisfying. Any edge that they had left over from Out Of The Blue was gone. Fluffy, unsuccessfully attempting to sound extravagant, overdone and kinda ridiculous. The best track on Discovery, "Midnight Blue", would have probably been an outtake on any other ELO album before it.

Otherwise, it's not bad...
