Prince Be, the main man behind the duo known as "P.M. Dawn" (along with his dj bro), was one of the the best rappers ever. Influenced by the more philosophical rappers like de la soul and taking his name from the inspiration of Prince (who also died earlier this year), P.M. Dawn released a couple of great rap album. Their first couple albums were to hip hop like the Decemberists first few albums are to indie rock. They didn't really release anything after 1998 for a few reasons (flagging popularity and a family feud) but their first couple of albums can stand with any of the more widely-known classics.
