This is actually a fairly difficult one out of the gate for me as both Sigh and Wolves in the Throne Room are excellent contributors to their genre and I’ve had a lot of enjoyment out of both of their discographies— these albums especially so. I really don’t know which way I’m going to go with this one but congratulations to you for putting together a difficult match in the first rounds.

Man, I voted before completing "In Somniphobia". The first half was so underwhelming that after listening to "Amnesia" I decided it's shit and voted for Two Hunters (Don't be outraged though, it's for the tournament and I'm busy so I'm just gonna listen to each album once; normally I wouldn't decide like that). But the second half of "In Somniphobia" doesn't have the gimmicky playfulness of the first half; I mean some of the melodies (esp. on tracks "Somniphobia" and "Amnesia") were pretty ridiculous and the songs didn't amuse me (they were trying hard though). But "Far Beneath the In-Between" and "Amongst the Phantoms of Abandoned Tumbrils" back to back are brilliant songs. Although I don't think I would've changed my vote in the end, but should've waited. _________________ "I feel like for the last two years there’s been sort of a sonic evolution happening and I’ve been experimenting more and more."

I find that, indeed, among the four matchup this one is the hardest. If the choice would have been Two Hunters vs. Imaginary Sonicscape, I would have chosen Sigh. I like the two albums, but here my choice goes to Wolves in the Throne Room.

I imagine this will be the easiest of votes in all this tournament for me. Two hunters was a kind of gateway album for me and has opened the doors for all sorts of metal to me. I've had it in my overall 100 at times. Anyways, the sigh record it the first one that I haven't been able to listen to, or finish I should say. Couldn't get past track 2. I don't like it at all. Not my thing sorry.

I also couldn't get into that Sigh album. Progressive metal / rock in general is very difficult for me to get into and all the crazy time signature changes and dramatic vocals made it very hard to connect too. I did like some of the horn sections but overall I found it difficult to stay focused while listening. Two Hunters isn't the best black metal I've heard but I love the way it opens and closes, and honestly most albums could have won this one against Sigh.
Also a few of these first round albums aren't on Spotify but I managed to find them all on YouTube. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

of all the Sigh albums you could've picked Hayden... :p
yeah I went with Two Hunters, but if Imaginary Sonicscape were here that might be a different story
Wolves in the Throne Room. One of the handful of American BM bands that isn't embarrassing
