One of the hardest match ups in this first round.

Symbolic is a fantastic album; intricately played and arranged - what all death metal aspires to be. If this was any other album, I would've given it the point. However, I'm going to give my vote to Dopethrone; one of the best metal albums ever. It's so satisfying to hear those deep chugging tones plod their way into your brain.

This could be a championship matchup, but I have to go with Symbolic, it's one of, if not my favorite, metal albums of all time.

I'd like to apologize on the behalf of the random bracket generator for creating this matchup.

Voting Dopethrone. In general I prefer slow heavy metal to fast technical metal and that's also the case here. Symbolic is also a favorite though so it's a painful choice.

Yeah I understand sticking to the random generator's result to the t in the name of integrity and all, but I'm pretty sure in the same situation I would have switched some of the matches (this one for example) and none woulda been the wiser and we wouldn't be faced with this semi final if not final level matchup.

I ended up voting for Dopethrone. By a slim margin. There's just something about that sensation of just drowning in the heaviness that I love about Dopethrone. Although the sensation of having all the powers of my mind and its attention exploding with detail that Symbolic gives that is oh so special too. Tough choice.
