- Post subject: Introduction and help needed
|
Hi, I'm relatively new to the site (joined a couple of years ago but have only been active for a few months now...mainly rating albums as I listen to them). I'm a long time music lover and like most music lovers I have a varied eclectic taste. To simplify it as much as possible I like alternative non mainstream music (Pixies, Nirvana, and The Smiths are all time faves, Car Seat Headrest, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, and Thee Oh Sees are current faves). I love albums and keeping up with new music. Live music is my go to, from international touring acts to new local bands. I'm also a fan of lists and have been creating my own best xx of xx for a while now so this site is a great fit for me.
That's my introduction, now as for help needed. It is my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) that if an album is not on the site it needs to be added to a chart, but being new (and usually the silent type), it will be a while until I can do that (apart from my all time chart) so can I recommend two great albums for people to listen to and maybe they will like them enough to add to a 2017 list?
Dune Rats - The Kids Will Know It's Bullshit
A garage punk band that encapsulate fun. This album was produced by Zac Carter from Fidlar, and Fidlar would be a good comparison for this band, but with an Aussie larrikinism to it. Saw them live last night and it was a blast of fun.
Rag N' Bone - A Handful of Ash
Debut album from a local band. Powerful female vocalist, noisy guitar, with lots of distortion and the like. Savages would probably be an apt comparison.
Thanks in advance!
