If you could choose any artists to from a band who would you choose?

My Picks:
If I could only choose semi-modern members
Lead Vocals - Thom Yorke
Guitar - Jack White
Bass - Flea
Drums - Travis Barker

If I could choose any members I wanted
Lead Vocals - David Bowie
Guitar - Keith Richards
Bass - Flea
Drums - Keith Moon

Drums- Stewart Copeland
Bass- Stanley Clarke
Guitar- Robert Fripp
Keyboards (maybe vocals)- Donald Fagen
Wynton and Branford Marsalis- Trumpet and Saxophone respectively

I have no idea what would happen here. It sure would be weird though.

I would be fascinated to hear:

Drums: Bill Bruford
Bass: Flea
Keyboards: Steve Naive
Guitar: David Gregory
Vocals: Steve Marriott

Though I possibly have to many 'tasteful' musicians in there

It already exists--it's called Rush

Bass Guitar -- Geddy Lee
Drums -- Neil Peart
Guitar -- Alex Lifeson

How did all that talent end up in one group?

Okay, so I might consider a different vocalist, but Geddy's definitely a good fit for that music.

Okay, so to make one up from scratch:

Twin Guitars: Steve Morse and Rik Emmett (Rik also serves as vocalist)
Bass: John Entwistle
Drums: Bill Bruford
Keyboards: Keith Emerson

or for Metal
Vocals: Ronnie James Dio
Bass: Steve Harris
Drums: Mike Portnoy
Twin Guitars: Tony Iommi and Randy Rhoads

Now THAT would be a fascinating rhythm section. I think Bruford would really be able to support/reinforce the complexity of Entwistle's playing, rather than cloud it in the way Moon occasionally does. I do love The Who though, not trying to knock Keith Moon or anything 😁

Well I strongly believe Led Zeppelin in itself was a supergroup, I mean they had 'arguably' the Best vocalist, 'arguably' the best Guitarist,'arguably' the best multi instrumentalist and undoubtedly the Best Drummer of all times.....Led Zeppelin was like a moment made in heaven, an instance of the of the Universe standing in alignment.

But still if I have to choose an alternate one, I would line up
Eric Clapton -Guitar and Vocals
Freddie Mercury - Vocals
Phil Collins - Drums and Vocals
Paul McCartney - Bass and Vocals
And I would get the album produced by Brian Wilson
P.S.- I also would've liked Bob Dylan,Eddie Vedder and Jeff Mangum to get together and Jam at least once in the lifetime of the Universe
