FLAMING LIPS
Not brushing off Prince, because he is a legend and deserves to have made it this far. However, Flaming Lips played a huge role in shaping my musical tastes once I left high school/college. They made 3 near perfect albums in a row (and Embryonic was only a couple steps behind) and might be the best band of the 21st century so far. At least they're in the conversation.
