I'm not trying to be funny, I genuinely believe it'd be Thriller or Hey Jude.
As far as like, people who can name both the artist and the song title.
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by Mozart comes in a tight third though. And maybe even Cohen's Hallelujah.

Is that the "happy birthday" tune all over the world too or just the US/English speaking countries?
I might say Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from his 9th Symphony (though it's usually just a minute or two from an -- approximately -- 25 minute movement).
Though it would be instantly recognized by most people all over the world, I'm not sure how many people would know what it's called, which Symphony it's from, or even that it's part of a work that is generally an hour (or more) long. I'm pretty sure most would know it's Beethoven. I hope.

amazing grace, yesterday, happy birthday, stairway to heaven, I'm sure whatever the most famous raga is is up there with the large indian population as well as some chinese songs

Dunno about all over the world, but I've heard the tune in several European languages.

Yes, Ode to Joy, but "Letter to Elise" and the symphony N°5 are also extremely well known.
And perhaps A little Night Music by Mozart. Anything else by Mozart ?

Some people call it "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."
Some people call it "Baa Baa Black Sheep."
Others call it "The ABC song."
But, whatever words you put to it, that tune is definitely recognized by a whole lot of folks.

I'd say this melody, under different titles, would probably take the cake. As for as 'songs on albums' sorta thing, I'd be interested to see what that is.
