Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by conallmalone (2020)

These lists are a lot harder to make than I thought.

I kept it as just one album per artist as there is only 50 spots (wouldn't have as much variety than). I don't rate compilation or live albums.
The order of the list isn't perfect and I am missing a lot so hopefully I'll be able add to it over time and improve it.
I am a strong believer in that you can't like an album unless you listen to the whole thing but I put my favourite/ notable songs off the albums in the description so if your considering buying any of the albums they're the songs to listen to.
Enjoy.... feel free to give feedback good/bad

Order is still to be decided

It's so hard to choose a number 1. This is a great album though I got it the day it came out and I recently bought it on vinyl and I'd strongly recommend everyone to buy this. It never gets old and it must be played loud.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 5% of charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a mean average rating of 89.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 89.5/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 8.1.

Nice rocking chart. Pure and simple. Love the system, it pays homage to all great albums by an artist while making space for 100 bands

Awesome chart man! And thanks for your rating!
I love your inclusion of AC/DC, Alice in Chains, and Jane's Addiction, all artists I've gone back and forth with myself on including in my all time chart, but deeply love regardless. I also love how you included in your notes other albums you recommend. I'm considering doing the same. It helps a lot too with artists I haven't heard before but want to get to know such as Public Enemy or artists I'm only somewhat familiar with, but don't know where to start like Queens of The Stone Age.

Nice to see a chart from a metal fan (an assumption made on AC/DC, Metallica and GNR being in your top 6) which has so much diversity. Look forward to this being extended in the future.
