I like all of the albums RUSH have made. Some of them stack up quite well against any album ever made IMO.

But it would seem that I'm pretty much alone with my love of RUSH.

If you would please vote for your favorite RUSH studio album if you have one.

And or post all things RUSH orientated.

Or even just to complain about Geddy Lee's voice. Which I actually like.

All of them.

Drool

..

But, if I had to pick one, I always find Moving Pictures to be a few levels above the rest. Still a few on there that I haven't heard though.

"You're not alone" (Bowie '72). The starkenss of their lyrics is what turns a lot of people off I think (beside the typical knock on Geddy's voice). There's not much to ponder as far meaning with Rush's tunes. But at the same time they use some big intellectual words that no "poet" could ever get in to a song. I like that.

As far as musical talent, they have few rivals. All three are masters of their instruments.

I'm glad there's others that think they're a bit low on the pole here.

In before 40FootWolf/other Rush haters

In all seriousness, though, I love Rush, and for me it's a close call between 2112 and Fly by Night. The latter has more filler, but it's a lot catchier and much more underrated.

Moving Pictures, it's just a tiny bit better than 2112.

I have to go with Permanent Waves, though Presto and Moving Pictures are right behind it (yes, Presto is my second favorite Rush album; deal with it).

THE PASS

Proud swagger out of the school yard
Waiting for the world's applause
Rebel without a conscience
Martyr without a cause

Static on your frequency
Electrical storm in your veins
Raging at unreachable glory
Straining at invisible chains

And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heartless sea
Can't face life on a razor's edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be

All of us get lost in the darkness
Dreamers learn to steer by the stars
All of us do time in the gutter
Dreamers turn to look at the cars
Turn around and turn around and turn around
Turn around and walk the razor's edge
Don't turn your back
And slam the door on me

It's not as if this barricade
Blocks the only road
It's not as if you're all alone
In wanting to explode

Someone set a bad example
Made surrender seem all right
The act of a noble warrior
Who lost the will to fight

And now you're trembling on a rocky ledge
Staring down into a heartless sea
Done with life on a razor's edge
Nothing's what you thought it would be

No hero in your tragedy
No daring in your escape
No salutes for your surrender
Nothing noble in your fate
Christ, what have you done?

I see Signals received a vote.

This is my cousin's favorite RUSH album also.

Signals is the only RUSH album to have 5 singles chart Applause

This is a song off of Signals called The Weapon and this is a live version from the Grace Under Pressure Tour.

Trust me, if you haven't seen this, you need 2. The Weapon has one of the best guitar solos PERIOD.

The song starts at about 1 minute into the video.
