I added a decent subwoofer to my system a few months ago. (yamaha HS8S)
It's great to rediscover your music with this added depth..
What are the tracks that make best use of sub bass frequency range?
Some examples:
James Blake - Limit to Your Love (a whole different song from the one you know from the radio ๐ )
Amon Tobin - Four Ton Mantis
Flying Lotus - Dead Man's Tetris(feat. Snoop Dogg & Captain Murphy) (almost too much bass! almost..)
Half Moon Run - I can't figure out what's going on (not extremely low, but great use of those lower regions)
Kendrick Lamar - Wesley's Theory
Swet Shop Boys - Zayn Malik (Indian-Pakistani rap)
Janelle Monae - Primetime (feat. Miguel) (sub bass reverb on the kick.. awesome)
Jamie XX - Gosh
Beck - Morning
Commix - Be True (deep 'reese' bass)
Octane/DLR/Script - Set Up the Set (wall-destroying bass! don't play all too loud ๐งฑ )
Noisia - Dead Limit
Burial - Archangel (..and a whole lot of dubstep and dnb tracks, but not all do it as well as these..)
(Edit) massive attack -> about everything they released!
Somebody told me that when this record was made they didn't have sub bass yet. But when I play this loud, my walls literally rumble. Literally. Rumble.
Come on, don't tell me there are no bass addicts like me on this forum..

There most certainly are, although I tend to prefer the more subtle tones of 70s-80s JA dub as my intravenous bass medication of choice.
That said, my favourite bass track, by a long way, is the Leeds Warehouse mix of LFO-LFO. Designed to make bones at illegal raves reverberate since 1990. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG

Thx all.
Nice subs there indeed! love those sine-wave bass breaks.
I do like dub, but I'm clueless on that front. Recs welcome!

Probably best start by looking at this, then have a squizz at my dub chart (link in my sig below). Some digi-dub like this would be right up your street though, I'd imagine:
Justice- Waters of Nazareth (this song blows ears out whenever it comes on and my headphones are too loud)
Seefeel- Filter Dub
Flaming Lips- Approaching Pavonis Mons By Balloon
Tobacco- the whole album Maniac Meat
Holy Fuck- SHT MTN
Tortoise- Unknown
Liars- Left Speaker Blown
Funki Porcini- Reboot (also River)
Thanks chief! That Tobacco record sounds great.
SHT MTN -> one for the cowbell thread : ) cool drums also
tortoise: nice and deep, I'll check out more from them..
liars: dig!
Reboot: wow.. such sub! ๐ Funki Porcini has some great stuff, should listen more..
