I am a new member and I am greatly appreciating the incredible, seemingly limitless music knowledge possessed by this community. I am discovering so much great music.
So what are the greatest albums to listen to in the following scenarios?:

1) Headphones/Isolation
2) Feel Good
3) Angry/ Anti-Social (emotion not behaviour)
4) Romantic
5) Under the Influence

Thanks for your recommendations.

Thanks, as I think music is all about time and place. Must say, that since becoming a member of BEA it feels like I have entered the rabbit hole. I canโ€™t wait to check out your picks. The first 3 I havenโ€™t heard of. I realize I didnโ€™t give any of my own picks yet. Still working on it, but should have it up later in the day.

Hi Fischman,
Dan Fogelberg takes me back to my first relationship in high school. So right about Katrina and the Waves, but after I feel guilty? Does that make me a snob? Flotsam and Jetsam I havenโ€™t heard; Pink Floyd I have, I dig!

Hi Thad,

I am familiar with Sufjan Stevensโ€™ Illinoise, and thought it quite remarkable when it came out. Is Adz better? I am listening to the Stone Roses and feeling pretty good (though not under the influence). Graceland is a great pick. I think Paul Simon is underrated and I love the way he incorporates musical styles fro around the world. The zydeco flavour of Graceland works particularly well. As crazy as this seems, I only discovered Modest Mouse recently. I am really enjoying The Moon and Antarctica but must get a copy of LCW. Dโ€™Angelo I will need to check out but it wonโ€™t make me a sex addict will it? Finally, no apologies necessary. You only get one go round. Do no harm, and your choices should be your own is my philosophy. Radiohead I know from The Bends but am starting to listen more and more-and loving it. The other music I havenโ€™t listened to, so thanks for the recommends.

Never feel guilty about what works!

I fell in love with Karen Carpenter when I was 7 but wouldnโ€™t admit it out loud until I was 40.
