I'm kind of going to rain on the parade, but I looked them up and to me they seem like another dime-a-dozen indie folk bands (mumford, lumineers, of monsters and men, passenger) that were all the rage in the charts going three years back or so.
There's a huge amount of great folk music by actual folk musicians out there, I don't usually think a bunch of guys in flannel shirts that look like me singing vague affectionate poetry over the top really adds much.
Seems like they have a devoted niche fan base, but perhaps people feel the same why I do, which is why they're less hyped up.
Honestly I'm surprised they have such high production music videos, some really nice work on that front.

That's what an umbrella is for. If you aren't into it, you aren't into it.
You're right about their videos though.
And the fan base is pretty niche. Went to their album release gig in London and, as a 40 yr old, I was one of the youngest.
Wouldn't call them "cool".
