Regarding Wanderwelle, here’s what I wrote about it when it first piqued my interest:
In which a pair of Dutch dub-techno heads journey into a dark forest, go searching for a Gruffalo and end up finding a box of records containing LPs by The Orb, Etienne De Crecy, Deepchord, The KLF and the Wicker Man Soundtrack (but only the eerie bits, not the songs about landlord's daughters and that kind of thing).
Anyway, the whole thing is a journey; an album to get lost in. A smooth acid wash of sound, dragging you deeper and deeper into an imposing woody vortex as you listen, like a book you can't put down. It captivates throughout, all the way to the closing track where amongst howling, unsettling winds you encounter the throbbing heart of this gothic soundspace, its pulse resonating deeply until a kindly wind arrives, suddenly lifting you out of the impending doom by a stoned Vangelis on a magic carpet of pixie dust. Suffice it to say the album's spell-binding, enchanting, mellow and simply divine.
Pick? Well, hard to take a track out of context but personally it's "Across The River The Leaves Whisper", which sounds like The Orb's Blue Room meets something off Super Discount. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

Wow. I wish I heard this sooner. Because this was an ambient dub album I needed. I will say that this could be the runner up for this type of genre. I would argue Moonbuilding 2703 Ad by The Orb is a better record than this but this was worth it. Thank's Jimmy. Surprised that you thought people would hate your choice. They probably won't like mine.

And while I love Lost In A Sea of Trees. I adore this a lot more.
I was aware of this artist for a good bit when I heard one of his songs from Sirius XM Chill. Checked out an ep by him and by 2017 he release his debut album. A dreamy intoxicating album that is very distinct and meticulous. And is suprising for his debut cause I don't know where he could go from here. But we will see when that point of time gets here.

Every now and again I find myself in upscale Men's department store. Hugo Boss and other names I can't even recall. The sales people know that I don't belong there. I know I don't belong there. I'm just killing time sucking in the free AC. anyways, I feel that his must be the cd they're always playing when I'm in there. This guy must be raking it in. Or he sounds like a bunch other downtempo dudes. whatever. Like finding myself in a Hugo Boss (I honestly have no idea of even the name of these shops but they all look & feel the same), I don't belong here.
Meanwhile, Jimmy's rec is becoming the soundtrack to my mornings & late evenings. Easy win here for JimmyDread.
Meanwhile, the #realRTilly aka animalStar- who's far cooler than me - thinks....
it's a real great album it makes me feal ... :!:animal star

Lost In A Sea Of Trees by Wanderwelle was a trip l would take again. Good enough to place it on my best of 2017 chart.
I can see the appeal of Utopia by Darius, but it was too smoth and polished for my tastes. Cool to see E^st (a young, up and coming Aussie) as a guest vocalist on a couple of tracks though. I did not expect that.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed my pick. Also noticed you loved Astral Progressions as well.

Both were very good but I liked the ambient dub a whole lot more. Brings me back to the soundscapes of Donkey Kong Country for some reason; maybe it's the ambient aspects? I don't know. I thought it was wonderful.
