My new um...I don't know what you'd call it...electronic symphony? Well my new ep/album/symphony nearing completion (by nearing I mean I should have it finished by the end of next month). It's called Olympus Mons and for the first time with music I've created, I'm strangely proud of it ๐ It's inspired by a lot of the 90's electronica + post-rock I've been listening to and is all synth and all instrumental. So it's may not be everyone's cup of tea. (I'll also add that I think minamilism is overrated ๐ )

very true plus its not really an indicator of what the whole thing sounds like but I've wanted to gauge some kind of reaction for a while (I've been working on it since the start of the year). Also that earlier song was kinda a joke ๐คฃ but thanks.
I like it, sounds like a lot of work has gone into it. Is it all done on a computer, or did you use any instruments as well? What sequencing software did you use?
Thanks ๐ yeah it's all computer (through a midi synth) it was the one rule I gave myself when I started writing it was to use no instruments. I use program called Acoustica Mixcraft which is good but certainly far from the best.
I think you've done really well. I used to compose my own stuff a few years ago, mainly ambient. I used to like coming up with drum patterns and percussion, and then layering those with pads and special effects. The most difficult thing I found was layering things in and out, and still keep the flow.
I think a computer can do pretty much most things a synth can do these days (with the help of samples), but analogue synths are another story. It's amazing to think what kind of kit Tangerine Dream (and co) must have had to use in the early days. Imagine doing all of this stuff without a computer!
