First time hearing the Beck track and it's pretty great. Never been a fan of Nickatina, and this ode to coke over acoustic guitars is no exception.

Like the Nickatina track enough, never cared for what Beck's done post Mellow Gold but this tracks possible. GOING for Nick

Well yes, the verses obviously are, but I think there’s a disconnect in tone between San Quinn and Andre Nickatina. I also watched a live version performed by just Nickatina (backed by The Roots) and his ad-libs / dialogue were more ode than cautionary tale.

I certainly like Girl- it's nice 'n' breezy. My fav' noughties Beck track you say? Probably Gamma Ray.

The Yaya track is intriguing but I'm not addicted after a first listen.

Close call but I'll opt for Beck.

A draw. I'm here with a friend that prefers the Nickatina track, while I slightly run for Beck unconvincigly, we're not thrilled by the matchup actually.
