Yeah Chairlift sounded like a lot of those bands in the late 00s/early 10's that managed to have a really catchy song that could grow a lot of internet buzz, but listening to an entire album was a chore. The song itself is cute enough but perhaps now for fucks sake I'm just sick of the 80s revival (now a good, what, 15 years in?) so not so much against the song but at this point... let's mercy kill the reagan/thatcher years already. On the other hand, while it may sound a bit cheesy these days obv I have a lot of nostalgic love for Lacuna Coil and their more melodic, song-based approach to atmospheric euro-style metal, not the song I would've chosen but I still like it, and enough to get my vote here.

I just love that single (Bruises). Just super cute. But completely agree otherwise- never made it through the entire album. Need to check out lacuna coil.

I remember liking the Chairlift song when it came out but I couldn't recall the name of the band when I did my noms. Now I can hear it again I still like but not quite as much as before. I almost nominated Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn and John, which is of a similar ilk and I think a slightly more interesting song.
The Lacuna Coil track is less my thing but I could dig the riffage at least. I'll still have to go with Chairlift though.

I have some nostalgia for Our Truth because I played it on guitar hero a lot back in the day, but now it just reminds me of all the music people listened to in high school that I didn't like. Bruises was fine and gets my vote, but there are several songs losing in this round that would have beat either of these. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
