My question is why is the Radiohead album at number 1 spot. I see the chart and is comes at first when i see the reviews and rankings i see that Pink Floyds "Dark Side of The Moon" is better reviewed and has not so much comments as Ok Computer. Is it fact that most of the users of BEA.com are young or have the most of them grown up in the era of Radiohead. While i think a other album could be on number one spot. But what do you say to this.

it's based on charts, not ratings. granted, you can also sort by ratings, but ultimately, every album appearing in your charts is weighted based on position. albums with the most appearances, particularly in high slots on overall lists, tend to receive the most points. this is why objectively shit albums by objectively shit artists like the arctic monkeys make their way into the top 100. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

There is no such thing as objectively shit. Besides, IMO, the debut's better than In Rainbows, Hail to the Thief and The Bends. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

normally, i'd agree with you, but shit is objectively shit as sure as water is wet, or else our language falls apart completely. beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, and hey, maybe some people like shit. my dog certainly doesn't seem to mind it. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

Ok i mean i agree with most of the top 1000 albums. But i think Pink Floyd should be at number 1 spot or a album by the Beatles. But I don´t think the Arctic Monkeys are bad they make good music.

It's a very pretentious thing to decide for other people what's objective. Just because one person in the BEA community is outspoken about their hatred about Arctic Monkeys, that doesn't mean it's true. In fact, if you want to convince people that they're bad, then "objective" is only going to drive people away from your opinion. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

everything about appreciating art and music is obviously quite subjective, and there will never be a list of best albums that pleases everyone. radiohead has the top ranked album on this site. that doesn't mean anything. arctic monkeys are a very popular group, so they're high in our lists. that was mainly my point. i was being a tad facetious, and perhaps offensive just for the hell of it, but i ultimately have no interest in convincing anyone not to like their stuff. if you like it, that's great. i would hate to ruin that for you, not that i really could anyway. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

see, now i look like a snob, which couldn't be further from reality. i hope. my wife is my favorite person in the world, and we have zero overlap in what we enjoy listening to. your taste in music says nothing about who you are as a person 99.9% of the time. truth is, i'd respect you all the same if you told me you enjoy listening to field recordings of toilet flushes. just don't expect to see me at the concert. enjoy your humbug.
* i went through a phase where i was, in fact, recording various toilet flushes and other odd water closet noises and remixing them to try to create something "new" and "unique" and "exciting". i hit the first two, but i must admit that there was nothing exciting about the final product. my sister and brother-in-law found it very unsettling to listen to. so, by all means, if you do happen to listen to toilet flushes, let me know. i'm still holding out some hope that this niche is a potential gold mine. um, you might still find me at that concert. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
