Don Cherry's self-titled helps a lot. Of course, most things with a sitar would help but still. Violator also helps me maintain focus.

If anyone is vaguely interested in this topic, I highly recommend Pauline Oliveros' book, Deep Listening: A Composer's Sound Practice. For music, it's hard to beat acoustic drone and oscillators.

Tim Hecker. Pretty much any Tim Hecker album is good for it, although I never specifically used Tim Hecker's music for that before, so I probably should.

Most of Sunn O)))'s discography can fit the "meditation" criteria, but here are particular highlights:

ØØ Void by Sunn O)))

White1 by Sunn O)))

White2 by Sunn O)))

White 1 and 2 do feature some spoken word audio clips.

Monoliths And Dimensions by Sunn O)))
Although this one has spoken word on the intro track.

Life Metal by Sunn O)))
There are vocals on the first track.

Pyroclasts by Sunn O)))

I think Pyroclasts is their most meditative.

Interesting thread. I'm quite curious about how a death metal drone can be used to support meditation!!! I probably won't try this but it does make Sun 0))) a conceptually interesting group to me. It kind of makes sense that something slow and textural would work. Maybe the deep tones are soothing as well.

I recently read an article which said that Jazz was found in a study to be the style of music that best supported concentration. It was concluded that this could be because listening to improvisation requires greater concentration from listeners...so maybe listening to jazz could improve meditation skills but I'm not exactly sure.

Overall though I prefer to meditate with no music at all.

Happy Sad - Tim Buckley
It's by far the album I've meditated to, the most, while explored the most viscerally potent things in my mind to.

There's a compilation called 'Music To Quieten The Mind' by Eckhart Tolle, I think is exactly what you might be looking for.
