I'm talking deep underground, so don't give me anything like Pixies or Dinosaur Jr.

Dropdead, a Rhoda Island thrashcore act, is one of my favorites and I am completely excited for the new album coming out in three weeks. Their EP's are usually questionable but their two studio albums are fucking brilliant.

Orange Culture is a local band I really enjoy listening to after getting crushed by them at a battle of the bands. They had one really amazing song they played live but unfortunately it's no longer uploaded on YouTube. I hope they record some more stuff soon cause I think they're just getting better. They're all really young- like late teens early 20's.

Nice one indeed.

Uh, yeah I'll have to agree that underground can mean a lot of different things. For me it's just not main stream music. So for like 2 years I thought I was cool in high school because of some emo bands before I thought people knew about it - my favorite thing about underground music is the reality is if you know about it, so do probably 200k other people (often enough at least), which then of course changes things about the definition of underground, eh? Hot Water Music, The Anniversary, Piebald, and even AFI before they sold out... hahaha my favorite concept.

Anyway, I guess you could spend hours and hours and hours listening to underground music on things like BandCamp, SoundCloud, and ReverbNation. You probably could stop listening to anything released by a true "record label" for the rest of your life by the things posted here just in the last 5 years, and still not get through it all. My favorite artists on these platforms are where their mom is their only fan... talk about those pasty people who never see the sun.
