In the world of streams, radio play, and ticket sales, Charli XCX and Carly Rae Jepsen spent 2015-19 as b-list pop stars. In online communities of music fans, their fresh sonic choices and the high standards they hold their music to have brought them a bit of the recognition they richly deserve. Backseat, their cowritten collaboration that leads off Charli's excellent 2017 mixtape Pop 2, is a beautiful song about heartbreak with excellent vocals, hooks, and chemistry. It's also a banger, thanks to amazing production from the dream team of A. G. Cook and Easyfun. How better to sum up its appeal than a meme from the year before its release?

Anyway, I adore Flesh Without Blood, so this matchup in the first round pains me, and I don't expect my nominee to win. But please give it a fair chance. _________________ Join us in the canon game / Add me on RYM
Oh cmon, why is this a first round matchup? Anyways I still haven’t heard Pop 2 even though I know half the songs off of it, with Backseat probably being the best. Flesh Without Blood is incredible too. I’m leaning Grimes, but idk man... _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
