NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.

OK guys, gonna allow people to start making their nominations now.

Remember, you are only nominating a year; you still have plenty of time to explore your choice, and I will message you for your album and single nominations later.

Some people have already made their nominations elsewhere, which I will attempt to honour, so please just shout if that's you. I think I caught them all, but I could have missed a couple. (My first three choices - 2000, 1996, 1998 - have already been taken, I believe. So, erm... good choices guys, I guess.)

Anyway, I'm nominating 1999.

Throw your hats into the ring, guys. If anybody who nominated before they fully understood the format wants to change to a different year, just say in here.

Also, please only nominate if your intentions are to participate fully in what will be a long tournament. Obviously if life gets in the way, nobody will blame you, but nominating on a whim is probably a bad idea.

I strongly suggest that once you have picked a year, you start exploring. It would be advisable to try to find around 10 albums and 10 singles from your year that you would be happy to use.

Mercury, you beat me to the punch on 95. Not to mention all the great years snapped up before nominations were open. I'll take 1994.

Still loads of great options left. I was super close to nominating either 2002 or 2017, and considered many others.

For sure. I'd say the best ones left are 2004 and 2018.

Damn, 1999 and 1994 were two of my top choices. Next two were 2002 and 2012 and after way too much thought I'll take...2002.

I definitely would've done 98, mainly for being the seminal year in French Hip Hop and would've been interesting to showcase that, but I guess I'll be boring and do 1993
