A tab for soundtracks (whether TV/film score/video game, etc..), similar to the new features identifying live albums and compilations. I feel like soundtracks and scores are different enough from albums that maybe they deserve their own distinction.
Just tossing it out there. If it's too much work, never mind, but figured it could be an idea to bring up.
Put up a poll to see if it's just me. All good if it's not.
In favour of this. I think movie/game/TV soundtracks/scores are fairly obvious where they are labelled as such but should exclude theatre e.g. Broadway & West End recordings(?)

Agreed.
Just a 'Soundtrack: Yes/No' option (whether it's an original soundtrack or not). I'm blanking on what else has soundtrack other than tv shows, films and video games, but I don't think it needs to be overly specific.
AM, are you planning on adding a soundtrack subheading for albums on charts and discography pages? Would make it a lot easier to add the data. _________________ Join us in the canon game :) / Add me on RYM
I'm fairly comfortable with 'factual' type flags if they add value to the site as they're fairly easy to administer, but also wanting to add genres/styles at some point and thinking whether a 'Musical' label might be entering that territory unless that category was more defined (does a musical have to be performed in theatre to be a 'musical' etc), do we ignore theatrical productions that might consist of poetry, comedy or spoken word.
I may have unintentionally opened Pandora's box by adding the soundtrack flag, and, as we add more, need to think about not adding too many and making flags consistent with each other. Perhaps a broader category to group all theatrical output to get away from the genre debate and make albums easier to classify and these can then sit alongside soundtracks at the same kind of level in the category tree.

Sorry to put that on you AM.
If it matters any, I'm against the musicals distinction. I'm not sold we need that.
