Lil Ugly Mane isn't for me, and that track was sleepy. That other song (Sakhi) was a smooth psychedelic suite that I like a loooot. A clearly winner here. Very clearly indeed. _________________ My Top 100 :

Lil Ugly Mane is in a fairly interesting place in between rock, pop, and rap. I don't know that I'd consider it original or groundbreaking, but it's a cool vibe for me.
John McLaughlin teaming up with a couple Bollywood composers is definitely more interesting. Quite frankly, I don't even know if John McLaughlin is doing anything on this track. Mahadevan sings, Hussain plays tabala, and McLaughlin did the orchestration I guess? And co-wrote it? Either way, there's a strong likelihood that I would not have listened to this if McLaughlin wasn't involved with the project.
Solid nominations from both travelful and craola, gotta go with Sakhi though. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
The first few minutes into Sakhi I was fully prepared to vote for it over my own nomination. But the middle part of the song (4:10) just took me completely out of the trance I was in. Not that it was bad, I did like it, but considering at the end of the song (6:10) it goes right back I just feel the middle part disrupts more than adds to the song.
Headboard is fucking incredible and everything I could want from hypnagogic pop. The washed out vocals are gorgeous and I had no idea Travis Miller could sing this well. The shoegazey guitars, the melody, and the bittersweet lyrics are all just flawless to my ears. I think this is the best of all three of my nominations, surprised it's losing to be honest. Travis Miller is a living legend. _________________ Griselda, by Fashion Rebels 2020's Hip-Hop 2020's Country
Lil Ugly Mane – I didn't know until 2021, but last year's entire album was a welcome discovery.
The artist reminded me of Advance Base, close to me in terms of vocals and sound, but more depressing.
This track is one of my favorites in the entire tournament.
The album is on the 75th place of the year in BEA and does not win in one go, which is strange.
The presence of the track bold futile flavor on the album was a real shock.
This is a mix of a tune from the very first album of my childhood:
Геннадий Гладков [Gennady Gladkov] - Бременские Музыканты (1969) (Children's Music, Film Soundtrack)
The original of this tune starts at the 20:40 mark of the video:
John McLaughlin, Shankar Mahadevan, Zakir Hussain - it's hard for me to remember even one name.
This is probably good music for meditation.
But I could not do yoga under this track.
It probably depends on the temperament of the person.
