An extremely varied album. It almost as if Bowie put every genre he experimented with previously into a blender and this was the result. One of his best.

It grew off me but the title track is still great to me.

Station to Station became a favorite over the last couple of years, especially after another couple of years not really connecting to it.

The balance of quirky, left-field creativity and down-the-middle likability here is remarkable. Whether he’s delivering a huge chorus or a detached croon, there’s something different to like and look out for every few bars on this record.
