Voting Lullaby. Death & Romance is a good track, but it lacks... something. I'm not head over heels in love with Magdalena Bay and for a few years I've been trying to figure out why - to no avail. Tunnel Vision is the only track from Imaginal Disk that would stand a chance against Ichiko Aoba, I think. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart

I got to agree with Led Zep, Death+Romance is a very elaborately constructed little hybrid of the artier massive Pop of both the 70s and 00s semi-underground, but like a lot of MB's music I've heard I just go "yeah, that's well-made", there always seems to be that extra kick that makes a really well written track into having that Certain something that makes it an unforgettable endless-on-repeat classic,and this is just not quite on that level. Still strong, probably would've gotten my vote in a number of matchups but to my ears Ichiko can do no wrong and even if this isn't the greatest of hers it's still better than almost everything I've heard so far, and easily gets my vote.
