- Post subject: Fucked up, yet great
|
I have given "Y" by The Pop Group a some listens, and it grows on me every time. I find the music very interesting: it's cacophonic, wild, free-form, unconventional, yet it's really great.
Any recomendations to albums which are both fucked up and great at the same time?

There's always albums made entirely out of re-mixed surgery recordings.

Just off the top of my head:
Torture Garden-Naked City
Prowler in the Yard-Pig Destroyer
Charlie-Melt-Banana
Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished-Animal Collective
Burned Mind-Wolf Eyes
Leichenschrei-SPK
Last Rights-Skinny Puppy
Of course by "fucked up" I'm assuming you're referring to music that takes you out of your comfort zone? _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

Would like to second that Royal Trux rec., and also supply my own in The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World. Just a very strange album overall. Made by 3 New Hampshire sisters whose father apparently had a premonition of their musical success, and so pushed them into a recording studio with NO background in music or any training whatsoever. Frank Zappa likes them better than the Beatles.
