Yes, I'm a film geek too ๐ Will be updating these as they come through. You can watch it live here, if you like:

here's hoping, The Tree Of Life gets in for Best Picture and Director! (despite that being incredibly unlikely).

Malick will win directing. They'll give it to him like they gave it to Scorsese; they missed their chance of recognition with Days of Heaven and Thin Red Line -- like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and Goodfellas -- so they'll give it to him for a decent film that showcases his style, Tree of Life -- The Departed.

HUGO SHOULD SO TOTALLY WIN!
And I think this is the first time since the Animated Feature category was introduced that a Pixar film hasn't been nominated. ๐ข Sad, really.

I really don't think so. I think Malick was incredibly lucky to scrape in for director (given how "un-oscary" The Tree Of Life is). and comparing The Departed and The Tree Of Life is tantamount to sacrilege!

I agree that "The Tree of Life" isn't a conventional choice for the oscars, and hope it wins. _________________ I'll be your plastic toy.

I don't know if I want to live in a world where the skinny and creepy version of Jonah Hill is an Oscar nominee. ๐
