Top voted comments:
"My Morning Jacket is about as close as one gets to a true twenty-first century arena rock band that I actually like. Of course, that's because these Louisville, Kentucky, natives are so much more than mere Skynyrd or Van Halen knockoffs. Even though their live performances include the light shows, smoke machines, and flying hair reminiscent of a seventies Live-at-Budokan clichรฉ, Jim James and company actually seem to have something to say. "Off the Record," for instance, is a clever play on words that refers both to the duplicitous nature of politics and to the choices artists must make when deciding what material to make public. Z is just a great throwback rock and roll album."

"Ya know, once I heard this album, I thought I loved MMJ, but then I heard their many others, and realized this one's the gem. In terms of experimental/jam rock, there are some really amazing tracks on this one. Their other albums don't have as many tracks that jump out like this. Based off their latest effort, I don't think they'll ever match this album."

An album I haven't listened to in years but that I've heard many times. I'll revisit tracks from it on occasion and I'm reminded of how strong this album is. Remains a favorite to this day.

Itโs hard to believe that this is more than 20 years old.
I loved this when it came out but have to admit that, of all the MMJ albums that I own, I playing probably the least.
Iโm going to have to rectify that
