the immediate that come to mind are The Highwaymen (Cash, Kristopherson, Jennings, Nelson) and The Traveling Wilburys (Dylan, Petty, Harrison, Orbison, Lynne). Jack White has been involved in a couple and one that I like is Middle Brother (feat the lead singers of Deer Tick, Dawes, and Delta Spirit.

Im sure there are loads more, some that I was not even aware of.

The first one that comes to mind for me is Cream, of course. I'd also throw Zwan in as one of my favorites, though they were really overlooked and didn't last long. A Perfect Circle is another good one.

Emerson, Lake, Palmer AND Bach!

One hell of a team!

Edit: no, but in all seriousness, it's pretty kitschy of course

I think Battles technically count as a supergroup. So I say them.

Also: Emerson Lake and Palmer are one of the most hilariously ridiculous bands ever. Tarkus isn't a half bad album though.

another more recent choice is The New Pornographers. I'm also fond of similar choices Monsters of Folk and Middle Brother.
