I'm not talking about bands you think suck per se, just bands that you yourself have given a chance because your own musical preferences hint you should love them or like-minded music fans have recommended.
Bands someone else might be surprised you don't love.
For me, the list is:
R.E.M. - Should be right in my wheelhouse... I even love R.E.M. copycats Guided By Voices... but something just doesn't connect for me.
Pink Floyd - I'm a fan, but don't understand the sales/general adulation
My Morning Jacket - Been recommended by a ton of friends, just don't hear it
The Pixies - Blasphemy right? I love guitar-based indie rock. I'm even from Boston. Strike me down, rock gods.
The White Stripes - Like them enough when listening, but rarely ever seek their music out on purpose.
Two albums that sorta fit this description: Astral Weeks and Pet Sounds.
Sonic Youth - It's getting better and I like some of their stuff now, but I was massively dissapointed after hearing Daydream Nation for the first time.
Flaming Lips - They're alright, but the singer's voice is just too damn annoying to me.
Given my love of progressive rock, everyone is always really shocked when I tell them I hate Rush. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.
I think The Beach Boys for me. Pet Sounds is a pretty nice album, and it'll probably go on my chart when I get some more entries available; but other than that, their sound doesn't really do much for me.

Have you tried "Rather Ripped"? More pop-orientated than some of their other albums. My girlfriend generally hates my music (she's into electro ๐ ) but likes this album a lot... _________________ "Bunch of opinionated, hipster twats!"
The Beatles i guess, since i love rock ! but i still don't find them even good, just an average band ( i only rated 1 song 5/5: Tomorrow Never Knows from Revolver).
