Probably Led Zeppelin, although stuff like Whole Lotta Love doesn't do much for me... but a lot of their psychedelic and folkier stuff is great, but I can't stand Robert Plant. Interesting question.

Well, he's not a band, but Bob Dylan. Brilliant music, vocals are obnoxious as hell.

I really can't think of any whose music I love but vocals I hate. Morrissey's vocals can get a bit grating, but I don't hate them. Rap-wise, Jadakiss is a bit annoying but I don't love his music. James Blake's vocals are fucking awful, but I only love his dancier, more garage-y songs anyway. His album was pants. I think the main contender for me is Talib Kweli. His voice really annoys me (although occasionally it works - at least it's distinctive I guess), but I love some of his music (especially Train of Though, Black Star and Quality).

I think it's often the music that defines how good the vocals are for me, so I can't really think of any. E.g. Brian Eno is probably a horrible singer, but his vocals sounds good when he sings over some sparse piano like in By This River. Otherwise I can't say I like a vocalist if I've never heard him sing in music that means anything to me

Oh, I just thought of another one: Live. Their music wasn't horrible, but that singer with that overly melodramatic vocal style drove me crazy... and I ended up hating that band.... Smashing Pumpkins maybe too. Can't stand Billy Corgan... But both of those also include the lyrics and the (can't believe I'm going to use this word again, but I don't know another one that fits) pretentious self-importance of the lead singers, and their clearly over-inflated egos.
