Wow. I've never heard that Boredoms album but I literally love everything else, singles included (actually, 'Doo Wop' might be my favourite song of all-time). It's gonna take some team to compete with those.
"Air's endearing debut is saturated with the most basic of human desires, creating a deeply cathartic listening experience. It is an awe-inspiring cruise through the fantasy of a deeply surreal paradise."
"It possesses an uncanny blend of of sonic beauty, poignant lyricism and spirituality that compels without commanding. The record offers a rich blend of potent beats—tight snares, booming kicks and cool rimshots—and a diverse tapestry of various musical textures that hark back to the days when hip-hop wasn’t tied to the whims of industry trends and charts."
'Super æ' is an album that succeeds in its amazing ambition more than any album since 'The Beatles'.
The Boredoms did more than perfect their sound with 'Super æ', they created a timeless piece of music.
"Chan Marshall fully delivered on the promise of her debut when she released her magnum opus Moon Pix, a true masterpiece of emotional shading and compositional clarity. Recorded in Australia with her friends from the Dirty Three, guitarist Mick Turner and drummer Jim White, the album continuously impresses with complex, deeply expressive arrangements that manage to be nostalgic, even sentimental, but still strikingly contemporary, without ever feeling contrived."
