This is me basically begging for recommendations, though I'm already drowning in them. ๐คฃ
So, basically, what I want is something that is magical, be it lyrically or...atmospherically...? Anyways, yeah, do you guys even know what I mean? ๐ It is the reason I love classical and ambient and folk! It has got the same magic that fascinates me in fairy tales, fantasy, fables, and so on. Maybe atmosphere is the word I'm looking for. But it can't be any old atmosphere. Maybe I'm not making sense. It is more a mood than a sound.
Here, I'll give you examples:
Vashti Bunyan, Joanna Newsom, World's End Girlfriend, Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd, Music from old Disney movies ;P
I'm really speaking of some really abstract and vague concept that likely differs between people, but perhaps this will make for interesting discussion, so let's see how this turns out.
Animal Collective's debut Spirit They've Gone, Spirit They've Vanished, it's a concept album about childhood fairy tales and growing up.
Could this be Animal Collective's chance at redeeming itself with me? XD Thanks, sir! It's been recommended to me before, but hearing of the concept has made me more interested!

No Problem, the only fault in it that I see is at some points they get a tad "ok guys it's our debut lets be as experimental as possible", so at a couple moments they start experimenting with high frequency's, but those times are outweighed by the better.

Magical music? The most magical music I know is Tallest Man On Earth. He is pure magic. He just feels like a messenger from some beautiful ancient reality. He just feel wise, like some sooth-saying, down to earth, humble shaman man. It's all subjective, but TMOE has something that just makes me feel understood. All with just(basically) his voice, his gorgeously detailed words, and his intricate melodic and subtle acoustic guitar playing. The whole album "The Wild Hint" is recommended. Songs to check out infivulodually if you insist are "Love Is All", "Burdwn of Tomorrow", "Sparrow and the Medicine" -and "Criminals" _________________ -Ryan
