- Post subject: Is 2013 going to be the best 2010s year yet for music?

The Foxygen album was amazing, Amok was enjoyable for me, My Bloody Valentine new album after 22 years (beat that 2012), Solid Unknown Mortal Orchestra album, new Strokes album soon, new Flaming Lips, new Wavves, new Daft Punk (oh my), new Mgmt, new Arcade Fire (the big one), new Black Keys and Grimes as well and maybe even unexpected releases. I say best year since 2007 if not better.

2012 was amazing, and my favourite year for music since 1994. 2013 has the potential to be even better, although you'll find this thread has been done already.

I'll tell you at the end of the year which year is on more of my charts and which has my least favorite albums, it's all about the scales.

So far, I am liking the releases of 2013 more than the past few years. It was rather slow but late Feb-early March has been great.
And new Number 1 in my 2013 chart!

If Mazzy Star, The Wrens and Avalanches all release their really long-awaited albums and they blow even the highest expectations to smithereens, then maybe. Otherwise, just going to have to see 2013 play out

Drake's new album is released this year,so yes it will be the best year of the decade thus far.

Do you actually think his new album will be better than Take Care? I can't see it personally. I think Take Care might have been a great album by an otherwise annoying artist. I hope he proves me wrong.
