I thought people weren't big Coldplay fans on this site, yet they are ranked 24 and have kept that for a while now, whereas Muse was in the early 20s, but now has fallen to 30. I often remember hearing praise for Muse, and a lot of hate for Coldplay... anyways, really difficult for me to pick Muse over Coldplay, but I do because I believe they are better guitarists/singers/bassists/drummer, whereas Coldplay writes good songs, but haven't been in awe at their playing abilities.
What say ye... Coldplay vs. Muse. The game is afoot.
I'm not big on either of them, but I will say that I was rather impressed with "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends". It's the only Coldplay album that I can say that I truly enjoy.
Muse are alright, although a lot of their more "over the top" songs annoy the crap out of me(Survival, United States of Eurasia, etc.)
Oh and I like some stuff on Parachutes, also looking at Muse's discography theirs a lot of crap...So actually Coldplay rather easily wins this. But neither of them are "great" (In my opinion)

I enjoy them both to a certain extent, but their later discographies both really suck (I'll exclude black holes and revelations since I like that albums).
Btw, why this thread out of all a sudden? Why Muse and Colplay? Why not muse and Oasis?

I've listened to all of Muse's albums at least once, except for Showbiz. Never was compelled to, after hearing a couple songs off of it that my friends played me.
