- Post subject: Your BEA 'persona'
|
Recent comments on the Comment on other users! thread got me thinking; how closely do people's BEA personas match who they really are and how they act IRL? Personally I like to think that my presence on BEA is a fair representation of myself and that people wouldn't be too surprised with me were they to meet me IRL. Definitely the comments I got on that thread are pretty close to how I'd like to be perceived IRL, and I hope I am, the comments weren't too far away from what I hear IRL from friends and people I know.
Basically I like to be seen as hard as fuck but also just a really nice guy ( ) is it working?

On BEA I am slightly known for mindless chatter, but IRL it works well with comical relief with my personalty.

BEA's like entering a whole new body. For me, this body is socially awkward when I'm a pretty popular guy in real life. I fit in in real life, but not here. Plus, my jokes are usually funny in real life.
I'm a totally different person in real life. BEA's just very strange for me. But I plan on making myself a lot less angered and to post a lot less. I hope that helps my BEA charisma to rise through the ranks for fiend to friend.

I'd define myself as "talkative", "funny" and "friendly" IRL, but I don't think that's me on BEA. The thing is, I'm very friendly and extroverted when talking face to face with someone, or I've actually met them IRL. Through the internet I can come off as "distant" or "unfriendly", but it's just that it takes me awhile to feel like I'm on friendly terms with someone when talking through a forum. I also overthink the stuff I write here, whereas IRL I'm way more impulsive. There's also the language barrier.
With time I'll (hopefully) get used to you all and start making good friends and enemies, instead of simply being here.

In real life, I am the very last person a bunch of teens at 20 somethings would call cool (even ironically)... yet here the perception is that I'm some kind of Fonz figure and ooze cool out of every pore! It baffles me as to where this perception has come from...
IRL I'm playful and passionate... which is what I try to be here although judging by some comments it is misconstrued as snide (which is not my intention at all).
Other than that I'm pretty WYSIWYG both IRL and online!

In real life I'm a pretty talkative guy and I'm usually way more confident about speaking my mind IRL than I am on BEA because I'm certain that I'll say something really stupid every time I'm about to post something. I also like to keep my posts pretty short because if I write anything longer than 3 sentences I read over my own comments and think I sound retarded. This doesn't really happen IRL, I usually just say stupid shit and regret it later. I do try and be myself as much as possible though. Also in my group of friends I'm the guy who knows the most about music and coming here makes me feel like a complete lightweight.
