|
On this date 72 Years ago in the town of Duluth, Minnesota, Robert Zimmerman was born.
Bob Dylan by Bob Dylan
Anyway, I was gonna write a big things about him and his birthday. I was gonna go over how many great albums and songs he's released, and how many thousands of shows he's played, and all this. Maybe I will later. As it is I will just take a little time to listen to "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie" today which is a tradition I have and reflect onhow much of an influence Bob Dylan has had on my life.
I'll share (as best I can) that poem "Last Thoughts On Woody Guthrie" here http://youtu.be/Q0OdNY8Aybw
And I'd like to start a thread for now to take this time to talk about Bob Dylan and his music and post songs we love by him, etc.
And of course to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BOB!

I love the fact that Dylan has so thoroughly covered such a wide swath of American music in his career. From blues of different kinds to Folk of different kinds to country and rock. Man! He is really such a great chameleon like gentlemen. He c
Seems able to absorb a genre and make it his own.
My favorite songs (top 5)
Baby, You've Been On My Mind
It's Alright Ma, I'm Only bleeding
Red River Shore
A Hard Rains A Gonna Fall
Ballad of Hollis Brown
My fave Albums (top 5)
Highway 61 Revisited
Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Blonde In Blonde
Bringing It All Back Home
Blood On The Tracks
(^^^ that is a cliche top 5 I know. Haha!)
Also, man I just want to say the Bootleg Series is such a gold mine! All 9 have been fabulous! _________________ -Ryan

I went with the typical Highway 61 Revisited but Slow Train Coming is a very close second for me.
