  • Post subject: ONE Last Album You Shoud Listen Before You Die!
  • Quote
So I took the idea of the thread "The BEA 1001 albums to listen to before you die!"

You have only a couple of minutes, maybe hours. You can only listen to one LAST ALBUM. Which one will you choose and why?

Remember you are dying, so if you listen to Skrillex you wont be able to dance, you'll probably get a heart attack on that.

My choice:

THE NATIONAL - BOXER

I can write a whole speech of why I want this album. But well, it starts with "Fake Empire", about the middle the best The National song "Start a War", and ends perfectly "Gospel"

"Darlin can you tie my string
killers are callin on me
my angel face is fallin
feathers are fallin on my feet"

.... and that might be the last lyric I'll ever listen too

At the risk of seeming boring by picking the same album again, Music Has The Right To Children strikes me as the perfect accompaniment to shuffling off this mortal coil.

Honestly I don't know why I'd listen to anything other than my number one.

Sakura by Susumu Yokota without track 10, would want to be as relaxed as possible before leaving.

Some classical music on my dying bed.

Maybe Bach. I'd love to hear the Goldberg Variations one last time.

I can imagine no greater way to go than while listening to "Deep Waters" and "Ends of the Earth," so Dirty Three's Ocean Songs.

Songs In A&E by Spiritualized. No better way to come to terms with death.
