I heard an album the other day. It was by a band called Beady Eye and called 'Be'. I'm going straight to the point here and saying it left me a little disheartened. For all it was worth it sounded like music... that couldn't stir the soul. My whole experience with the album left me feeling hollow. I can hardly remember a single moment from the album yet I can remember feeling worried about the state of affairs in rock music when one of its most popular still playing names makes something of the such.
Like... wasn't being in a band supposed to be fun? Wasn't it considered a youthful thing to do? People giving it there all. You know, all those cliches about love, life and freedom?
Beady Eye's 'Be' album sounded like bottled inspiration. Tap water marketed as "inspiration" for another group of Rock N Roll fans and old timers to enjoy. Where are the people who just don't care? Can't we give the young guns a turn?

It's that "three out of five" album. No one likes that. At least you can vehemently hate an album or absolutely love an album, but an album in the middle? One that's just mediocre? That's just uninteresting all around. It's not bad, but it's not good. It just happens sometimes.

Wells run dry. It's hard to stay inspired, especially when someone becomes hugely successful and is handed everything they could ever want. I always though Oasis were a bunch of wankers anyway, so this doesn't surprise me.

Song seem to be about how Manic Street Preachers (or Nicky Wire) sees them self in the world and pop music in general. The whole album still contains the fire one normally finds on band debuts.

Madness, that album is chock full of brilliance, probably their best album! Anyway, Beady Eye's latest is pretty awful, I guess it deserves 2/10. That's 1/5, which sounds worse, doesn't it, though it's exactly the same. And yeah, most people get more cynical and disillusioned with time, me included. Luckily there's always the option to disregard the bad things in life (especially politics tend to make me want to slit my wrists) and concentrate on the good things. 😄
