Actually I think I prefer Reasonable Doubt xD

Incredible album anyway. Some parts do really nothing for me, but others, and in particular Frankie Teardrop, are pieces that make me feel like no other music I've listened to so far can.

their 'Second Album' seems a bit more sci-fi, to my liking. it has a very cheap sound to it (outdated recording equipment, outdated synthesizers, and a rhythm of from a glorified metronome), which really works for certain songs. 'ghost rider' has the singer at his most charismatic, and a nice quotable (america's killing it's youth). 'Frankie Teardrop' is not much for melody, but the poetry hits home and is said in a very convincing manner. 'Rocket USA' has a rhythm akin to sega genesis' 'shadowrun', which appeals to me. 'Girl' has a minimalist bossa nova beat with some very horny vocals. Some of the music though comes off a little boring, 'Cherree' ,'Johnny', 'Che' just doesn't do it for me, at all.

"Fun" is the first word that comes to my mind when I think of this, heh. My definition of "fun" is a bit broad....

nothing says fun like a song about killing your wife and infant child before you commit suicide.

I was thinking the same thing.

This is one of the more terrifying albums ever recorded. Swans early stuff is scary and suffocating, but there's a spontaneous deranged madness to Suicide that I've very rarely heard anywhere else.

And still it rocks. When I think of rock'n roll, I sometimes think of this record before the classics.

Yeah. This is easily one of my favorite records to come out of the CBGBs scene. Right up there with Marquee Moon
