I'm a sucker for American folk, but Nico's solo as a whole leaves a larger impression on me. Seems like the best matchup out of this week's batch, I think.

My vote goes to Mississippi Fred McDowell. I really like Nico, but I just love McDowell's deep deep blues. The wail of his slide guitar is just haunting as hell. "You've Gotta move" is impeccable.

This exactly. McDowell is fabulous, but Delta blues musicians are generally one-trick ponies. Nico's work is just brilliant in so many different ways.
