Absolute legend. The lead singer on one of the greatest albums and many of the greatest songs of all time. A true icon. R.I.P. Ronnie.

Very sad to hear about the sudden passing of Gaspard Ulliel. He gave two of my favourite acting performances of the 2010s in Saint Laurent and It's Only The End of The World. Far too young. He had this big Marvel TV show opposite Oscar Isaac coming up too. RIP.

RIP Elza Soares.

I'm posting in this thread way more than I'd like to be 🙁

Soares was a samba legend for decades of course, but her recent albums really took it up a notch. The wave of innovation she had in her 80s was remarkable, and I'm genuinely sad this means her run has ended. If you haven't heard her 60s output of her 2010s output, I highly recommend both.

Even at 91, she'd been through the tragedies of someone who should be 500. I even think her biography is too bleak for any sort of biopic to ever emerge. Amazing how she recorded so much music throughout all of it...

RIP Meat Loaf. Made one of the best selling albums of all time (Bat Out of Hell) and later starred in one of the most acclaimed movies of all time (Fight Club). A true loss for music and culture.

Damn. I’ll be sticking on some Bat out of Hell this weekend for sure. Maybe all three.

RIP Meat

Yeah, RIP Meat Loaf. One of a kind. Can't forget he's a scene-stealer in Fight Club too. Wasn't quite expecting that news this morning.

Not music related, but comedian Louie Anderson and monk Thich Nhat Hanh also died today. 2022 has had a terrible start. We've lost some huge names in a whole bunch of different fields, and at a very wide variety of ages.

^^^ Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but why did he go with such a name to begin with? His real name is Michael Lee Aday.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Actually he was born Marvin Lee Aday but changed it to Michael in the 80s

Meat Loaf was a nickname he got playing football in high school. He was M.L. at first (for Marvin Lee) but then gained a bunch of weight and that nickname became Meat Loaf

He was shown talking about his foot ball coach last night on the Entertainment Tonight show. I think he said that he accidently stepped on the guy's foot once and the man said, "Get off of me you big hunk of meat loaf!" 😁 😁 😁

God bless you and his family always!!!
