“A good live album has the power to affect you in a different way than a studio record, it makes you wish you were there as it all happened and this one is a fine example of that. I can only imagine what a shock this must have been in 1961, it will be one of my first excursions when I invent a time…”

“1) This is around the time that Coltrane was starting to get spiritual, and before he started with free jazz. This is a great set. It's short, sweet, and to the point. Wonderful three tracks. The Village Vanguard doesn't have the best acoustics, so this is really an impressive recording especially…”
