I'm now in a point where I love every album here almost the same, so the order of this list just reflects *vaguely* the personal importance and general impact of every one of them in my life.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Lots of weird stuff but lots of good stuff. The free jazz albums here I've heard are top of their game, as are some of the serialism and modern classical albums. I've been interested Birtwistle's The Mask of Orpheus in a while but didn't realize it was ever actually released in album format, I'm checking that out now!

crazy sounds on this list yo! so much classical, insane jazz, psych rock, and electronic genres its overwhelming! (not to mention the various world musics) This is one of the more interesting lists ive seen good job!

@sssvnnn Thank you. I don't listen to the longer albums / compilations from beginning to end very often, but I do listen to them frecuently, in parts. They are my favorites for a reason.
