African music

I'm finding that, as I get older, my musical tastes are expanding and I'm appreciating music beyond my original areas of interest. Over the last few years I've started to get into music from Africa and here is the start of a list of my favourite albums that I also own. There are a couple of wild cards in here as they are by American artists but with African musicians and I think that they were both recorded on the continent but should they be here? I'm not sure. The order still needs a lot of work also. Suggestions for albums that I should explore welcomed.

Great idea. African music is incredibly rich and diverse and holds countless treasures. Have a look at my chart for further ideas, I have about 10 African albums in my top 50. Specific suggestions: "Talking Timbuktu" by Ali Farka Toure (Mali) & Ry Cooder, "Pirates Choice" by Orchestra Baobab (Senegal), "Nomad" by Bombino (Niger), and the Very Best of Fela Kuti (Nigeria)
